MySQL complained about wrong frm files. I found out, it was for some tables innodb was used. In my case moving the log files didn't help. I found out that my tmp directory wasn't writable. Something in the files has been incorrectly applied (EOF in wrong place?) . So while I'm not going to outline what really happened to the files, the logs will be regenerated and your system will still work.
